Cadastre and Register Infrastructure of Izabal

PMM
has supplied two cadastre experts to the study for the Cadastre and
Register Infrastructure of Izabal Department in Guatemala. This study
was contracted by the Norwegian company Norway Registers Development AS.
The consultancy was undertaken in 2002.
The
study covered development of a project plan and description for the
development and implementation of the cadastre and real land register
infrastructure in the Department of Izabal. Issues of legal-, technical-,
organisational- and financial aspects of the cadastre and land register
infrastructure were covered.
Main
issues:
- The
study was performed in co-ordination and also taking into account, the
management, specifications and standards for the Land Administration
Project prepared by the World Bank for the Petén Department and the
other cadastre and register projects under planning and execution in
other departments of the country.
- The
Study took into account and was performed within the aspects of the
social culture and economic characteristics of the Izabal Department.
- The
results of the Study, will form the basis for raising the funding for
the implementation of the project and include the specifications of
the costs of investments, and a preliminary financial feasibility for
the operation of the infrastructure.
